The bit where knitwear starts looking tired.

Pilling happens where fibres rub against each other. Cuffs, sides, underarms, wherever your favourite knit gets the most wear.

The Knitwear Refiner lifts away the surface pills so the piece underneath looks like itself again.

  • 1. Lay it flat

Place the garment on a firm, flat surface.

  • 2. Work lightly

Hold the fabric steady and pass the Refiner gently over the pilled area.

  • 3. Know when to stop

A few careful passes are better than going over the same spot again and again.

Always test a less visible area first, particularly on very fine or delicate knits.

For the knitwear in rotation.

Jumpers
The one you reach for every week.

Cardigans
Especially where bags, sleeves and sides create friction.

Knitted accessories
Scarves, hats and other pieces that pick up surface pills through wear.

Made for the wardrobe, not the utility drawer.

Garment care tools are usually designed to disappear when you're finished with them. We wanted something you would actually keep where you get dressed.

The pouch is handmade from 70% wool and 30% viscose felt, finished with a waxed cotton cord hanger. Designed to hang in your wardrobe, alongside the clothes it's there to care for.

Instructions, included.

No guesswork. Every Knitwear Refiner comes with a small how-to card tucked inside the pouch, with simple guidance for getting the best from it.

Questions, answered.

What does the Knitwear Refiner do?

It lifts surface pills and fuzz from knitted garments to help them look smoother and more cared for.

How often should I use it?

When your knitwear needs it. There is no reason to refine a garment every time you wear it.

How much pressure should I use?

Keep it light. Hold the garment steady and use a few controlled passes rather than repeatedly working the same area.

Can I use it on every knit?

Knit structures and fibres vary, so test a less visible area first. Take particular care with very fine, loose or delicate knits.

Should the garment be flat?

Yes. Use it on a firm, flat surface so you can control both the fabric and the tool.

How do I clean the Refiner?

Remove any collected fibres from the comb after use, then wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Keep it dry and store it in its pouch between uses.

Where is it made?

The comb is made in China. The 70% wool felt pouch is handmade in the UK and finished with a waxed cotton cord hanger.
